Spring Break: Jillian Style

Somehow, someway I always find myself on Spring Break somewhere cold. So this year, while every one was soaking up the sun in Mexico or some tropical island, I was in Northern Michigan. Although the below freezing weather bummed me out, I was happy because I got to vacation with my boyfriend. And we had so many adventures...!

Although the first picture makes it look like I'm somewhere warm, I'm really not... Everything around town was pretty empty. So empty that I got an outfit picture one day next to a ice cream parlor that was closed for the season!

Despite feeling like I look awful in this photo, I love the pink, small-town backdrop for this outfit because of my fun Forever 21 furry cardigan.

Sadly I don't have any blog-able pictures (i.e. not silly, good quality, etc.) of Brandon and I, but I do have this one of him looking off into Lake Michigan. The day I took this, we sat on the rocks and threw smaller rocks at the ice above the water's surface. We got way too much enjoyment out of it.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was finding this perfect little coffee house called Dripworks. The atmosphere was so amazing...

... and the drinks even more so! I had a latte (not usually a coffee drinker, so it was a little strong for my taste), Brandon got hot chocolate, and we split a croissant. The hot chocolate was out of this world... no joke, Brandon said, and I quote: "That was the best hot chocolate I have ever had." The croissant was amazing as well. If I could eat that every day, I totally would.

Of course, can't leave Northern Michigan or the coffee shop without a picture!

Thank you for reading! Let me know in the comments what you did on Spring Break!

  1. You look really cute in the picture, and I LOVED your boots! Are they Doctor Martens? The coffee place looks amazing, too!
