#OOTD: Silver Bells

I'm pretty unethusticastic when it comes to winter because I hate having to bundle up with layers or throw on a hat and gloves. You could say winter is my least favorite season, but I do love the festivities that come along with the holidays. For my casual holiday outfit, I wanted to show off my silver biker jacket from Zara that makes any outfit shine.

I will always say yes to metallics during the winter because it is my way to bring a little more color and fun to an otherwise boring outfit. You can upgrade any t-shirt and jeans combination by adding fun accessories that work with the outfit.

Although it was only 20 degrees when we took these photos today, I still had a smile on my face because I felt great in this outfit!

4 Chic Looks to Wear at any Holiday Party

The holidays are fast-approaching and that means we have to dig up our best outfits (or buy some new ones) for the various holiday parties we attend. Sometimes, it is SO difficult to find outfits for the various events we are invited to; sometimes you have to dress up, sometimes you can be more casual. That's why I've put together four super chic looks you can wear at any kind of holiday party. Keep reading to see my outfit ideas!

Go out in style this holiday season with this extremely chic and stylish outfit. Adding some extra color to an otherwise monochrome outfit is a smart idea; for a holiday outfit, try adding red, like I did here, or green! Incorperate the pop of color into your shoes, an accessory, or a jacket.

The most important part of dressing for any office party is looking professional. Of course, I never settle for less than stylish during the holidays so I conjured up these chic pieces. Add some tights to this ensemble and you're good to go; it's classy and modest yet trendy.

Not going anywhere? You can still party by putting up the tree with friends and baking sweet treats (honestly, it's the best kind of party). Make sure to get a camera ready for super silly pictures of everyone having a great time and don't forget your comfy but cute outfit!

There's no place like home for the holidays and I like to look sweet and chic for time with family. Anything plaid is always a good pattern to wear to Christmas dinners because the print is so nostalgic in my opinion. This look is comfy and cute because we all know how long family holidays go on for...!

JORD Wood Watches: A Perfect Gift for Him or Her

Now that I am an adult, gift giving is my absolute favorite part of the holiday season. It brings me joy to pick out the perfect gift for friends and family and see the smiles on their faces when they open it. Still looking for a special gift for a best friend, boyfriend or girlfriend, or a close family member? Look no further. This holiday season I teamed up with JORD Wood Watches to show you what the perfect gift for him or her really looks like.

I recieved the Reece series watch in walnut & navy, which you can find here. When the watch arrived, I was in awe of how nice the presentation and packaging was. As you can see in the photo above, JORD only delivers the highest quality. My boyfriend and I were very impressed, and to quote Brandon: "They have a customer for life!". My boyfriend is an avid watch enthusiast, so when I gave him this watch as an early Christmas present, he was so happy. Out of all the watches he has, he did not own a wood one, and that's what makes this gift so unique!

The best part about this specific watch is that it's unisex! So, if he really loves me (haha), he'll let me wear his watch over winter break. For fun, we both decided we would style the watch for all the guys and girls out there...

I paired this JORD watch with my pastel mint jacket and a light blue sweater tucked underneath. I love the color of the wood with the pastel colors, and the navy blue is a nice compliment to the light blue sweater! There are endless ways to wear this watch because it is just so timeless, yet chic and modern at the same time. Check out some of the other women's watches that JORD has to offer.

Watches like this always look good with Brandon's style because he tends to wear only monochromatic colors and nice sweaters with jeans. Here he is wearing a zip up knit sweater with some casual pockets. This watch is perfect for any man because it's a statement piece for them. From what I know about men, having a nice watch is almost, if not as great, as having a nice car. Like I said before, Brandon was impressed, and that's coming from someone who knows a ton more about watches than I do!

Want a JORD wood watch of your own? Enter to win one by clicking this link. When you enter, you will instantly be emailed a $25 coupon code. This giveaway ends 1/1, so don't wait!

She is Quiet, Yet Bold

Model your life after inspiring people, do not stray. Do not find yourself consuming poison thoughts or substances regularly. Don't let your body sit for too long: move. Consume goodness, think deepy and discover. Read, listen to audiobooks, meditate. Take note. I love you. 10-22-16.

Pumpkin Spice

I've been crushing on orange lately since Fall is almost upon us and I had my second Pumpkin Spice Frappucino today. Although, the weather today was very much still reminiscent of summertime. So much so that I just had to pull out my new Gucci sunglasses.

Here I am being a typical tourist by The Bean. If you've never been to the great city of Chicago, everyone will direct you here first. It's kind of a must-see, but by this time I am no longer a tourist and I've still been to The Bean countless times.

As I said previously, my shades are from Gucci. I got them half-off a month ago and I have no regrets. Ask anyone and they'll tell you that I've been terribly obsessed with Gucci for the past year! My top is from Forever 21, the backpack is Urban Outfitters, and my skirt and shoes are Topshop. I got the best deal on the skirt last week. It was on the sale rack for only $20 plus I got an additional 30% off because of the Labor Day sale.

A Life Update

It's been a long time since I sat down and wrote a post entirely about myself. It's hard to understand where to begin. I have obviously been on a pretty on-again-off-again hiatus from blogging, and I want to announce that I'm back for good... Unless, of course, my six class schedule, working part-time, spending time with my sorority sisters, being a good long-distance girlfriend, and running Campus DIY gets in the way.

It should be obvious at this point that I've been very busy and probably a bit stressed out, but honestly only good things can come out of struggles in the long run, right? I'm going to try my best to be as active as possible on this blog.

Now that I've updated you on the most recent happening of my haphazardous life, it's time to explain why I disappeared for so long.

After I had come home from my first year of college in May, I immediately launched Campus DIY (which was previously Flora Girl, but that's a whole other story). Being the only editor of the site, I had a lot on my plate, and still do, but launch month was especially draining. And when the traffic and reactions weren't as I expected them to be, I got very down on myself.

During that month and into the end of June, I was just a blob of depressing thoughts. I tried and tried to write on this blog but nothing ever came out of it. I put so much pressure on myself to be better that I was physically and mentally getting sick daily.

Thank God for my boyfriend because he finally sat me down and told me how much I had changed. I wasn't that happy and motivated girl he had met a year and a half ago. I had been thinking so much about myself that I totally forgot that my actions and my attitude affected everyone around me, especially those who loved me most. He reminded me of this on that late June day, and I pledged to myself that I would be ok, but I would have to push myself out of my comfort zone in order to feel like my old self again.

A few days later, on the first of July, I started my "cleanse diet" as I called it. One month without gluten, dairy, or fried foods. I would also load up on fruits and vegetables. Not only that, but I would try to change my thinking as I changed my destructive diet.

I know a lot of people don't believe in fad diets, and I didn't really either honestly, but I think my whole being was so disturbed and I needed to cleanse my life. I felt better that month, a lot better. During my first year of college, I had gained 10 pounds, been eating the same foods at the dining hall day after day, and probably drinking way too many Frappucinos. I think I was also just under a terrible amount of stress because my whole life had changed that year.

Anyway, I ended up losing the 10 pounds throughout the Summer, but at the end of the day I could have cared less about the weight. What really changed was my attitude toward life. I've never looked unhealthy, but I felt it. And I seriously believe I was dumping toxins in my body for all those years. To this day, I am still gluten-free, dairy-free, and avoiding fried foods, although I will cheat occasionally (hee hee).

For the past few weeks, I've been attempting to write posts, but I didn't come up with anything worthwhile. Although this isn't very exciting either, I hope it clears up why I've been gone for those of you who keep up with my blog or Instagram.

Feel free to ask me whatever you want; I am an open book. Thank you for reading this terribly long life update.

Festival Style: Mo Pop 2016

It's been a week since I was sweating in the sunshine, listening to good music all weekend. If you're from Detroit, MO POP is a must-visit festival. Not only did I see headlining acts like HAIM, G-Eazy, BORNS, and M83, but I also ate delicious foods and played arcade games with friends. Of course, for my first real music festival, I wanted to feel completely stylish; check out my day 1 + 2 looks below.

7 Diet Foods That Are Surprisingly Delicious

I've been adjusting my diet for the whole month of July and have never felt better. I decided to start this process because of how unhappy and emotional I was feeling, in addition to lacking the creativity I use to have. I never knew how easy it would be to stay away from fried and greasy foods, gluten, and dairy.

What I've Learned From Starting My Own Website

It's only been a little over a month since my new website,, was launched into the world. I could lie and tell you it's been fun, but it has been anything but a joyride. What I didn't realize when I first came up with the concept is that it would be a lot of work. So here's what I've learned about starting my own website so far...

Breezy Summer Days with Tobi

After being M.I.A. from blogging in order to finish my first year of college strong, it's nice to be back with a new outfit post. This time, I'm bringing you some summer wear from Tobi. I easily fell in love with the Camillia Skater Dress; yellow has been my favorite color for the past few months. The dress itself is elegant and soft but I added some edge with the West End Denim Jacket. The one and only denim jacket I had (before this one) is fitted and cropped, so it's nice to have added the Tobi one to my closet.

Want to get your hands on these pieces and other cute clothes? New Tobi customers get 50% over their first order! It's a great promotion and you can find anything: dresses, crop tops, skirts, rompers, bodysuits, jumpsuits... you name it! The selection is endless for summer clothing. Happy shopping!

Ditching My Unhealthy Thoughts & Finding Tranquility

I have defined myself as a blogger for two years now. At first, this website was just a place I could express myself when I was having a difficult time. I literally did not care what went on here, and if you look through my archives, you will see how true that is. At one point, I tried to move away from the more sentimental posts that I use to do and focus on what I loved: fashion.

Now, I've come to this point where I've started to realize that I need to get back to my blogging roots. Blogging has become such a hyped industry over the past year and since I am a blogger, I believed I needed to be perfect in order to be popular in this sphere. I don't need to be either of those. Don't get me wrong, fashion is still my life, but I was putting so much pressure on myself to look good. It just isn't healthy.

I've since tried to develop ways to stop worrying and obsessing over little things like appearance. I downloaded an app called Think Up, where you can choose positive affirmations and record them for yourself. It honestly really helps to hear things like "I am letting go of all my worries and fears" or "Every day I become more creative and inventive". Another thing I've been doing is taking walks around campus a few times a day. This not only keeps me physically healthy but mentally as well. Fresh air does wonders!

If you're struggling with having unhealthy thoughts, whatever they might be, take a step back and figure out what you truly need in your life. For me, any form of spirituality can help. That's why I love the affirmations. I also enjoy going through my quote Pinterest board when I'm sad. Words are uplifting...

When I first started this blog, I participated in the 100 Happy Days Challenge. I'm considering doing it again, if anyone would like to join me, email me! We can get a group together to motivate each other. The first time I did it, I was going into my Senior year of high school, and it honestly changed my life. I was doing well at school and at my job, I was finding more to be happy about, and I met my wonderful boyfriend.

I hope you all find whatever truly fulfills you, and never hesitate to reach out. That's something my sisterhood as an Alpha Chi Omega has taught me so far: to always be there for another. By the way, I'm getting initiated this weekend! Yay!

Bohemian Adventure Essentials

every fashionable girl needs these pieces to stay in style in the jungle

Yes, I've caught the travel bug once again. It's been an epidemic throughout my life. Thankfully, I'm going hiking in Northern Michigan with my boyfriend this summer. Today, I thought I'd try a new kind of post that I think you're going to like. I've been loving the whole boho look lately and the Asian culture that we sometimes see paired with it. So, if you're going anywhere tropical soon, make sure you pack these adorable essentials.

Staying Fit in Style

SKECHERS Demi Lovato Burst sneakers in black and white
Workout outfit with Urban Outfitters rose sport bra and leggings and SKECHERS
SKECHERS Demi Lovato gif. GIF of shoes, sneakers

I have never thought of athletic shoes to be stylish until SKECHERS sent me these. Comfort and style are both equally important in my book and these shoes do the trick. I love the pattern, it's like a mix of black, grey, and white, which means you can match them with practically any workout ensemble. Goodbye, unattractive purple sneakers!

#OOTD: Parisian Chic

As Paris Fashion Week comes to a close, you can find me playing around with pinks and pastels. After buying this beautiful suede patchwork skirt at Topshop back in October, I knew I had to break it out again for the warm weather we've been having. Nothing is better for warm days than a flowy white blouse (it's comfortable and cute!); a Calvin Klein one is my choice.

The details of this outfit include the first American Apparel item I ever bought: a pink twist scarf. I've had this fun accessory since my Sophomore year of high school and I couldn't help but wear it around my neck for some Parisian flare. Since I'm home for Spring Break, I couldn't help but rummage through my mom's closet again to find some heeled boots. If you're going for a different look, replace the boots with some lace-up flats.
