What I Wore... Around Rome

This weekend I explored Rome with one of my favorite people: my dad! I am so thankful he was able to visit me on my semester abroad, even though it was for a very short time. I've been dying to show off some of the new outfits I've bought here because everything is just so perfect and incredibly me. Hopefully, I will do more 'what I wore' posts as I am finally recovered from almost two weeks of being sick off and on, and I am ready to get back out there and explore!

In this country, I've grown to love muted colors like black and white again, a stage I went through before during the fall of my senior year of high school. It is because many Italian people wear all black outfits.  My dress is from MANGO, which I bought here.

My favorite thing about this dress is the sleeves. The ruffled fabric take the dress from plain to eye-catching. It also has a very nice fit to it and is comfortable enough to wear around the city because it's not skin tight at all!

This dress has become a staple piece for my wardrobe because it is so simple to dress up, or down. Here I've made it casual enough to walk around Rome in by adding the black booties I wear constantly and some leggings. To make yourself stand out from the crowd, you could wear heels, add some accessories such as a belt or a statement necklace or bracelets, or just skip the leggings and show some skin!

  1. That dress is really stunning! Those sleeves are by far my favourite part of it too. How nice that your dad was able to visit you for a bit!

    1. Hey, Natalie! Thanks so much! We have MANGO stores back in America but I feel as if the selection is just so much better here in Italy. The sleeves make the dress for me and was basically the reason I decided to buy it. :) Have a great week.

    1. Hi, Chloe! You're right! I've been seeing ruffles everywhere this year. I hope they stay around because I absolutely love it. It adds a little fun to each piece :)

  4. This dress is so chic and you look GORGEOUS in it! I love how flattering it is and those sleeves are just the right amount of drama without taking away from you. I'm also SUPER jelly of your time in Rome! I went to Italy two years ago and it was the best trip of my life.
